Transitional Design that Marries Sophistication and Fun

These clients were a referral from the general contractor, Executive Craftsman, and purchased this Darien, CT home during the pandemic and were looking to renovate a few of the hardworking spaces before moving in.

Their initial goal was to focus on the kitchen and primary suite, but they soon realized their desire to enjoy a stunning home that fully expressed their personality and lifestyle, and worked with Lauren Vallario Designs to renovate and design almost the entire home.

For this transitional design project, we maintained the integrity of the architecture and brought in a number of traditional elements while simultaneously making way for bold expression with moody colors, clean lines, and a youthful feel that reflected their family.

The kitchen was previously closed off to the family room space without a designated place for a table. We opened up the wall between the kitchen and family room and worked with an architect to design a breakfast nook as an additional gathering space as well.

The dramatic hues are complemented by sleek furnishings and rich layers of thoughtful transitional design throughout the entire house.

The uniquely eye-catching wallpaper paired with moldings of the space both of which emit a sense of luxury and sophistication while maintaining a welcoming and playful air.

This couple recently had twins and are delighted to be able to raise them in a space they can now proudly call home.
